I am writing to raise a formal complaint regarding the level of service and follow-up procedures at the surgery, which I believe have significantly declined.

I recently had a blood test as part of my diabetes review. After waiting three weeks without hearing anything, I had to contact the surgery myself to arrange a follow-up appointment. I was able to view my blood test results online and could see that some of the results were outside the normal range. I had expected to be contacted by a doctor to discuss these results, but no one got in touch, and I had to arrange the follow-up myself.

A similar situation occurred with my wife. She was suffering from severe hay fever and was advised to have blood tests. Again, after waiting three weeks, nobody contacted her to arrange a follow-up appointment. When we asked at reception, we were simply told that it was “not urgent.” However, her blood test results later showed a severe vitamin deficiency and low iron levels, which clearly required medical attention.

I would also like to raise concerns about another incident involving my wife’s appointment. She had a scheduled appointment at 2:00 pm and arrived five minutes early. After waiting for 40 minutes, she asked at reception why the doctor was running so late. She was told that the doctor was still with another patient. However, the doctor did not arrive at the surgery until approximately 2:35 pm, having come from outside the building. My wife raised this directly with the doctor, explaining that this was unfair as she had taken time out of her lunch break to attend the appointment. Patients understand that delays can happen, but they should be given accurate information rather than being told the doctor is with another patient when that was not the case.

Overall, I feel that the standard of service, communication, and follow-up procedures at the surgery has deteriorated. Patients should not have to chase important blood test results, particularly when those results are abnormal, and appointment times should be managed more professionally.

I would appreciate it if this complaint could be investigated and I would like a written response explaining what action will be taken to improve these issues and prevent similar situations from happening in the future.

I understand that the surgery is under pressure, but patients should not have to chase abnormal blood test results or experience poor communication. I would appreciate a written response explaining why these issues occurred and what steps will be taken to improve the follow-up process and patient care.

Didn’t start my appointment on time, and then proceeded to call to give the results without full explanation on them.

When calling for apointmenyts cant get through early until next day i have to call again just to speak to doctor on the phone to discus thats it wish u can give chance.first after working hard for 40.years its up setting me paid my tax n insurance
