Good | It was challenging to get a GP appointment, however I was able to speak to someone at my local pharmacy straight away. Very poor | I called on 15/10/2024 about a cough I’ve had for over 3 months. A GP called me back the same day and gave me an appointment for an assessment at 3.20pm that day. I arrived by 3.10pm and wasn’t seen until 3.50pm. During my appointment the GP just asked me the same questions that the other GP asked me over the phone earlier and then told me to go for an x-ray at Glenfield Hospital. The GP advised a referral would be made to the hospital and I could go anytime from 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday. I visited Glenfield Hospital on 16/10/2024 and was told that there was no referral. I called the surgery back on 21/10/2024 and was advised that the referral had been made on 15/10/2024. I visited Glenfield Hospital again on 25/10/2024 and was again told that no referral had been made. I have taken time off work for all these appointments which I have had to make up and yet I am still not able to have an x-ray taken of my chest and my cough still persists. | If the GP at the surgery wasn’t going to physically examine me then why even ask me to come in. The questions had already been asked over the phone and the answers were the same. A referral could have been made directly and I could have visited the hospital directly.
